Are you new to the school and looking for ways to get involved? A long-time parent unsure of how all of our enrichment programs, councils, fundraisers, and parent volunteer efforts fit together? If you have questions about volunteering for the school, the purpose of our fundraisers, or how the various parent-supported enrichment programs benefit your student, you can find out more by joining the Kester Avenue Elementary Parent Teacher Association (PTA). The PTA is always looking for parents to assist with it various fundraiser and activities on campus. Parents help to make Kester an extraordinary place to learn, and we welcome your participation in whatever way works for your family. For more information, contact our PTA President for 2017-2019, Nikki Fong, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Kester PTA provides our students and staff with many “extra” opportunities no longer provided by LAUSD, such as PE and art classes, a full-time computer lab teacher, a Science Lab with a full-time Teacher’s Assistant, a full-time nurse’s aide, a supervision aide, music and dance classes for grades TK-2, and field trips for all classes at all grade levels.Of course, these “extras” are not free, so the PTA conducts many fundraisers throughout the year. You are not obligated to participate in any fundraiser, but if every Kester family participated in at least one or two fundraisers each year, we could easily meet our fundraising goals:
The Kester POPS is a dedicated group of parents who volunteer their time to beautify our campus, help the PTA with set-up of its events and assist teachers, staff and administration with tasks. To join Kester POPS, email Jesse Smith at email@example.com.
The Kester Avenue Magnet Parents Association is the booster club for Kester Magnet Elementary, conducting community events and fundraisers to provide additional enrichment for the magnet school. Visit kestermagnetparents.org to sign up for the KAMPA newsletter and learn more about KAMPA.
Your support and contributions will enable us to meet our goal to provide computer lab instruction, P.E., field trip buses, a full-time nurse's aide and more. The suggested donation for the 2017-18 school year is $360 per family.
