Thank you to all the amazing parent volunteers who continue to share so much of your time and energy to help make things happen at Kester! It truly takes a village! If you haven't already, please reach out!
Are you new to the school and looking for ways to get involved? A long-time parent unsure of how all of our enrichment programs, councils, fundraisers, and parent volunteer efforts fit together? If you have questions about volunteering for the school, the purpose of our fundraisers, or how the various parent-supported enrichment programs benefit your student, you can find out more by joining the Kester Avenue Elementary Parent Teacher Association (PTA). The PTA is always looking for parents to assist with its various fundraisers and activities on campus. Parents help to make Kester an extraordinary place to learn, and we welcome your participation in whatever way works for your family. For more information, contact our PTA at KesterAvePTA@gmail.com.
The Kester PTA provides our students and staff with many “extra” opportunities no longer provided by LAUSD, such as PE and art classes, a full-time computer lab teacher, a Science Lab with a full-time Teacher’s Assistant, a full-time nurse’s aide, a supervision aide, music and dance classes for grades TK-2, and field trips for all classes at all grade levels.Of course, these “extras” are not free, so the PTA conducts many fundraisers throughout the year. You are not obligated to participate in any fundraiser, but if every Kester family participated in at least one or two fundraisers each year, we could easily meet our fundraising goals:
Parent volunteers are always welcome at Kester. Various opportunities to help out both on and off campus are available. Please click here for the Parent Volunteer Guidebook in English and here for the Guidebook in Spanish.
