Beginning in the 2022-2023 school year, the California Universal Meals Program will provide breakfast and lunch to all students at no charge. The menus are planned by a team of nutrition specialists and ensures that every student will find healthy and appealing meal options at school. Kester's monthly menus for breakfast and lunch are available here.
If a student requires a special diet or has special dietary needs, parents/guardians may obtain a form to request special meals from the school office or visit the LAUSD website for more information.
BREAKFAST IN THE CLASSROOM:
The BIC program returns to Kester this year and provides every student a no-charge option to eat breakfast at school. Seating will be available outside of the classroom after the morning bell. Breakfast lasts for approximately 20 minutes and students are always free to decline if they wish. Students who arrive after this time period will not have an opportunity to eat in the classroom.
