Want a free and easy way to support Kester? If you shop at Ralphs and have a Ralphs Rewards Card, your grocery purchases can support Kester at no cost to you! Register your Ralphs Rewards card to support the Kester PTA through the Community Contributions program, and a percentage of every purchase you make at Ralphs goes to benefit our students. Our participation brought in over $8,000 last year for PTA enrichment programs—the more families sign up, the better we do! Flyers went home in Backpack Thursday on September 1 with instructions on how to register online or over the phone. Instructions on how to sign up online can also be found at: https://www.ralphs.com/topic/community-contribution-2. If you can’t find your flyer, pick up another copy in the main office or download a copy by clicking here. Returning Kester families: The Community Contributions program resets annually, so you must re-register to continue supporting Kester. Thank you!
The 2017-18 Kester Programs & PTA Membership Drive will begin on August 25, 2016. It is our biggest and most important fundraiser of the year. We MUST meet our goals if we are to continue the excellent progress and success that our extra programs provide to our children.
The computer lab teacher, hands-on science, art, P.E., music and dance and field trips our students receive to supplement their core learning in mathematics, language arts, and science is a huge part of what makes Kester’s high achievement possible. The majority of the funding that supports these programs is not covered by LAUSD. Parents, families, and the community make it all possible with your donations that fund these programs.
Our goal this year is to raise $80,000. Our suggested donation will be $360 per family; however, a donation of any amount is appreciated and makes a difference! $15 of each family’s donation goes toward a PTA membership.
You can donate online by clicking on the button in the right sidebar.
As you are enjoying your summer break, I wanted to thank everyone who has contributed to Kester this year. Thank you for the countless hours you have spent in your child’s classroom, making copies, collating, tending the lost and found, helping set up for all of our fundraisers, volunteering at free play and volunteering at the various campus activities hosted by the PTA. Thanks to your hard work, we had our best fundraising year ever in 2016-2017. I hope to continue the amazing work we all did this year as we move forward and begin planning for 2017-2018.
Our Kester community is a reflection of the diverse families and the dedicated teachers and staff that come together for one main purpose: to make our school a safe, well-rounded, high-achieving and fun place for our children. As one year closes, we are already making plans for next year, so feel free email if you are interested in helping out in any way.
Have a fabulous summer!!
Nikki Fong, 2017-19 PTA President
